Following the news that Microsoft would be ending support for the Windows XP operating system, its usage is gradually dwindling in Nigeria as Windows 8 usage sees steady growth over the past one month.
Windows 8, which surpassed Windows XP for the first time in February 2014, currently has 17% usage, while Windows 7 remains the most popular operating system with 58% usage, according to StatCounter.
The software giant’s latest operating system was officially launched in Nigeria in October 2012, although it became commercially available from November 6 in the same year.
It has been described as the most well-researched, well-planned Windows release ever designed to simplify the things we do every day on our PCs.
